What’s Portugal 2020 ?
It’s very simple, we explain in a few words: It is an agreement adopted between Portugal and the Commission, which combines the performance of the five European Structural Funds and Investment :
- European Regional Development Fund
- Cohesion Fund
- European Social Fund
- European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development
- European Maritime Transport Fund Affairs and Fisheries
These funds define the principles of the economic, social and territorial development policy to be promoted in Portugal between 2014 and 2020.
Smart, sustainable and inclusive growth
The funding provided by Portugal 2020 is expected to help strengthen Portugal’s competitiveness in global markets. Eddiol, a Portuguese SME, was among the innovative projects selected by Portugal 2020 to benefit from sustainable and inclusive growth.
Thus, Eddiol is part of the Competitiveness and Internationalization category, one of the 4 major priorities of Portugal.
These 4 themes are :
- Competitiveness and internationalization
- Social inclusion and employment
- Human capital
- Sustainability and efficiency in the use of resources
Within this framework, Portugal receives during this period, 25 billion euros. These funds will be allocated in each of the 16 operational, thematic and regional programs.
